  • The Walled Gardens Underground Restaurant

    The Walled Gardens is a unique culinary experience from award winning chef Eddie Shepherd. Serving a modern plant-based tasting menu in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. It was recently listed as one of the Observer Food Monthly's "20 of The UK's Best Restaurants".

    Eddie cooks for just 8 diners a night, serving a multi-course menu with informal hospitality. The dinners take place in the specially converted ground floor of Eddie's home where he cooks & serves guests from an open kitchen. It's an ambitious culinary project with unique access to the chef.

    The tasting menu runs Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, three weekends of the month & the dinners are BYOB.

    Tickets are released four months in advance at 9am on the 1st of each month. They can sell out very quickly, but it's always worth checking availability.

  • Key Information

    BYOB - The Walled Gardens is BYOB. A welcome cocktail is served on arrival, then guests are advised to bring their own alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks of choice. A wine fridge is available to chill drinks. - There is a new wine pairing option which is available for Salut Wines, this must be pre-ordered from Salut, full details in the booking confirmation email.

    IMPORTANT - Allergies / Dietary Requirements & Alcohol - All the food served is vegetarian. I can cater for gluten free or vegan guests if notified at the time of booking. I cannot cater for nut allergies & while I can make a non-alcoholic version of the welcome cocktail alcohol is unavoidably used in preparing the food. Other dietary requirements must be discussed prior to booking. 

    Location - The Walled Gardens is located on Alness Road in Whalley Range, Manchester. The full address along with directions & details will be sent to you upon purchasing a ticket.

    Pricing - Tickets are £110 per person. The price of your ticket includes everything except the drinks you choose to bring yourself, there is no booking fee or service change.

  • Upcoming Release Dates

    Resrvations are released on the 1st of each month at 9am for the month 5 months ahead ie, on May1st at 9am reservations will be released for September.

    The Walled Gardens is normally open Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday three weeks of the month and then closed for a prep week every month.
