About The Walled Gardens Underground Restaurant

The Walled Gardens Underground Restaurant is unique culinary experience from award winning Chef Eddie Shepherd. Serving an innovative modern tasting menu in an informal, sociable setting.

Eddie cooks for just 8 diners per night, seated around a large communal table. The focus is on delicious food & a relaxed, fun atmosphere.

An ‘Underground Restaurant’ - The Walled Gardens strives to serve a dynamic plant based tasting menu but with the informality and hospitality of a supperclub. It takes place on the converted ground floor of our home where Eddie cooks and serves guests
from an open kitchen.

It is a unique set up which hopes to be very forward thinking but also friendly
& open. The aim is for the food to be delicious & the experience to be fun & personal.

Events can sell out quickly but currently availability is good & I am now running Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday, three weekends of the month.

About the Events

The food 

A 12 course modern vegetarian tasting menu from award winning chef Eddie Shepherd, also including a welcome cocktail & coffee and chocolates to finish.

The focus is on delivering truly delicious modern vegetarian food, which should also be interesting and unique.

The Evening

Catering for just 8 diners per night, seated around one large communal table, this is an ambitious culinary project with unique access to the chef cooking and serving your food.

The booze situation

This is a bring your own bottle event. A welcome cocktail will be served on your arrival before the meal, then guests are advised to bring their own alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks of choice - wine, beer, spirits, what ever you would like to drink. An ice bucket will be available to chill drinks and of course water will be served, as well as tea or coffee at the end of the meal.


The Walled Gardens Supperclub is located on Alness Road in Whalley Range, Manchester. The full address along with directions and a map will be sent to you upon purchasing a ticket. There is parking on a street nearby and we are well positioned for regular busses. It is easy to get here via public transport and is only a short journey from manchester city center.


Tickets are £65
(Tickets price has slightly increased from last year but this is mainly due to the fact the price now includes all booking & credit card fees).

The price of your ticket includes everything except the drinks you choose to bring yourself.

Dates will be announced as far in advance as possible. Then tickets will be released around four months before the event itself - so everyone has an equal chance of getting tickets.

Allergies / Dietary requirements

All the food served is vegetarian. 
I can cater for other dietary requirements but these must be discussed at the time of buying the ticket and well in advance of the event. 
We also have two cats in the house, they won’t be present during the evening and we keep an extremely clean home but anyone with an allergy to cats should be aware of this.


To keep the ticket prices as low as possible, and with these events being so small, it really is vital that all seats are filled to make it affordable to run. So if you have bought a ticket but unfortunately can not attend please give as much notice as possible and we will first try to resell your ticket, however if it is too close to the event and we are unable to resell the ticket you will unfortunately be charged for the ticket.
