
Eddie Shepherd is a 28-year-old an exciting, award winning, vegetarian chef. Described as “the Heston Blumenthal of the vegetarian world”.
Creative and ambitious, Eddie uses modern cookery techniques and culinary flair to produce innovative dishes that challenge any preconceptions of what vegetarian food can be.
Eddie recently released his first ebook ‘Modernist Vegetarian’ but much acclaim, particularly from chefs, and amongst other things he is currently working on a follow up book.
In 2009 Eddie won ‘Cordon-verts’ ‘Chef of the future’ competition with his unique cooking. And his website www.veggiechef.co.uk has become one of the go to places to see modern, elegant, creative food on the web.
Passionate and full of enthusiasm Eddie has made a name for himself in the culinary world as a young chef to look out for and expect big things from in the future. Modern vegetarian food being one of the least considered, but rich in potential, areas of contemporary gastronomy. Especially as people become increasingly conscious of where their food comes from and how it is produced whilst still desiring interesting, exciting food and chefs This is where Eddie fits in with his unique, sometimes avant-garde take cuisine.
Eddie also does a variety of media work including writing for food magazines, performing cooking demonstrations, TV etc. And works as a development chef, coming up with new recipes and culinary ideas, doing research and testing new equipment, and consulting.
Eddie also works closely with leading molecular gastronomy suppliers ‘Cream Supplies’, developing recipes, product testing and doing media work.
